Any future temptation of working at the pub again is gone. Last night was the last night of service for Archies Bistro. I have been working there again for the last 6 months, which has been mostly nice. Working at the pub has been a big part of my life for the past 4 years, so it was strange to see it alll coming to an offical end. It was also strange to see how much the pub was a part of everyone elses life. People actually teared up as I told them we were closing down, and last night there were higs all round and drinks bought for us, and lots of emotional farewells. There were a good group of regulars who knew all us waitresses names, and we all new what they'd eat. Such a strong community really. It'll be interesting to see how the place changes under the new owners.
no more inappropriate workplace sexual harrassment, no more chicken avacado, no more drinking as we work, no more melbourne cup, no more drunken abusive customers, no more 20 cent tips, no more 'salad or vegies? chips or mash?' I think those questions will be ingrained in my brain foerever! It's been a good time there mainly, I think I will miss it somewhat.
